A Cybercropping weekend - hopefully!

Well there are two great Cybercrops to join in on this weekend if you are up for a little scrapping - or cardmaking!!!!

Heaven-Sent Scrapbooking Cyber Crop - Scrap that !

Our next Cyber Crop will be on during the last weekend of March 2009. There will be four challenges, which are created by two of our Design Team members, Melissa (that's ME!) and Suse. The challenges will be posted on our forum on Thursday March 26, 2009.
All the layouts have to be uploaded in our Cyber Crop Gallery by midnight on Monday March 31, 2009. Note: This runs to South Australian time (GMT +9.30)
On Saturday night we will do a game and chat on our forum too! Cyber Crops are a great way of getting some scrapping done, using products from your stash and to have fun with other members of our Heaven-Sent community. There are prizes to be won and the winners will randomly be drawn on Tuesday April 1, 2009.

Or you can head to:

Scrap of Difference http://www.scrapofdifference.com.au/ Look for the cybercrop thread in the Forum.

A quick note to let you know that we have a cybercrop happening at Scrap of Difference this weekend. We will have some fun challenges to join in and if you have little people nagging you to scrap we will also have a Kids Challenge this weekend.

Challenges will be posted to our forum on Thursday evening and you have until Monday night midnight to upload your creations to our gallery to be in the running for the prizes.

Hope you can drop by and say hello! (from Jo)

Just to add a couple of shares:

My completed entry for Ingeborg's competition over at Heaven-Sent - Sketch challenge. These are some beautiful roses from the rose garden in the Botanical gardens in Mildura.

Last but by no means least is the layout I did in the "Get Challenged Now" forum at Scrapwitch. My challenge was to use star cut-outs - at least seven, the colours orange and blue and handstitching.

I really enjoyed doing this one but I kind of scraplifted a layout from an old Stampin' Up catalogue (2007?) and used rubons and doodling to achieve my desired result.

Have a great scrapping weekend all!

It's been forever......

Bet you can never guess what my guys are doing this week!!!!!
Mitchell
Keelan
Ethan
I have been going every day for Mitchell and Ethan's class as they happen to be in the same group. Of course I wasn't lucky enough to have Keelan there at the same time so I have only stayed once for his lesson and will stay again tomorrow. Staying for both though has me at the pool from 11 am til 2.45 pm and then it is back up to the school for pick-up. It makes it a long day. I actually got badly sunburnt on my face on Tuesday after not wearing sunscreen because I had given it all to the kids and forgot to get some off of them when I got there. I hadn't taken a hat either as I only own one and because it was overcast when I left home I didn't think to take it. Serves me right! I ended up wearing plenty of make-up yesterday to cover the red. Even my eyelids were burnt.......
I'm sharing all the work that I have been up to in the past fortnight as I had finally made time to do the memory gift layouts for Sarah Gladman and posted them off on Monday.
I found a few old Artist choice kits from TLC so chose to use up some of those and made up some extra layouts with the scraps. There was also three that I threw in which were old classes that I did when living in Canberra and never found photos to go with them. I have used a couple of sketches from Julie Bonner at 52weeks.com as they happened to fall into my inbox on the day I was doing layouts. I actually found I enjoyed doing these as I didn't need to procrastinate about the embellishments I was going to use. I also left a number of them without titles for the new owners to choose their own.

I was pleasantly surprised by the number of layouts I got out of just using scraps. I hope you like some of them.
This week my first card went up on show for My Sketch World. Here it is!

The sketch was a little different to what I would normally use and so I kept it simple for a funky, bright card. If you click on the blinkie you can go to My sketch world to see the sketch and see what the rest of the team did with it.

On Sunday was the lovely Dawn Stan, Lead Ambassador for Fiskars, 40th birthday. The demonstrators and Ambassadors around Australia and New Zealand we asked to join in the fun and make a card for Dawn to be placed on the Fiskars blog on the day. Above is my example using the beautiful Heidi Grace, Urban Acres papers and sticker. I have used the victorian circle border punch and some Kaisercraft bling with Prima flowers to finish it off. I hope Dawn like my efforts.
Keep your eye out next Thursday at Heaven-Sent for the challenges for the CyberCrop from myself and Suse. The theme is "Scrap That" and it will give you a chance to use some scraps and finish some UFO's, maybe......!!!!!!!! More about it next week - I hope.

Don't forget those monthly challenges at Heaven-Sent also. Scrapping the man in your life, a sketch challenge and a layout with rectangular papers but non-rectangular/square photos. Put your thinking caps on for those.
Have Fun!

A new month already....

I'm am so not with it.... I thought I had another day to complete a couple of layouts for February challenges and it wasn't until midnight clicked over last night and I realised that my watch said 01/03 and I went oopsy.....

Never mind, I will finish them off after the Cybercrop now and then upload them to the general galleries.
I have uploaded my DT for Heaven-Sent now and am a little sad that it is my last DT kit that I am to work with there. I have had a marvellous time for the last year + creating for the site. I wish Ingeborg and Siebe all the best for their future pursuits. I will be around there still until the end of the month to run the next Cybercrop though so they won't get rid of me too easily.

Here is a sample of my work and the rest you will see in the gallery :

I had the lovely Teresa Collins Jounal-It range to work with along with some Heidi Swapp stamps and flowers. All my kit details are here on the forum.

Scrapbooking Competitions March 2009 over at Heaven-Sent

This month we have three different scrapbooking and card making competitions at Heaven-Sent Scrapbooking. Please read all about our March 2009 competitions on our forum! The winner of each competition will receive a mystery scrapbooking pack valued at $ 30.00!

Here are some more details:

- Brigitte’s Competition: Most layouts today seem to feature square or rectangular photos and shapes cut out of paper. In this challenge, let’s do the reverse – have only square or rectangular shapes from our papers and cut shapes out of our photos. (Please note: circles, ovals, stars etc. all count as ‘shapes’). Cardmakers: try to create a card with papers in square / rectangular shapes and your embellishments in different shapes.

- Melanie’s Competition: Create a layout of a man in your life and what he means to you. We so often forget the people behind the scenes!!! Cardmakers: create a card for a man in your life.

- Ingeborg’s Competition: Create a layout or a card based on the PageMaps sketch below ( a larger picture is available in our March 2009 Competition Gallery).
* Upload the pictures of your work in the March 2009 Competition Gallery BEFORE midnight on March 31, 2009;
• * You can enter as many times as you like;
• * The challenge is open to anyone, but you will need to register on our site if you want to upload into our gallery!
• * The winner will be chosen by our Design Team in the first few days of April 2009.
Remember: the winner of each competition will receive a mystery scrapbooking pack valued at $ 30.00!

I'm looking forward to seeing what some people come up with for this sketch. It really looks like fun.
