My Christmas cards with North Pole papers.....

Image
Last Christmas season I bought the Kaisercraft North Pole 6.5" x 6.5" paper pad as I really loved the colours of the papers. Of course I really didn't get a chance to use them much  because I had already made my cards earlier in the year so have been putting them to use in recent weeks for my cards for this Christmas Season. Inspired by Pinterest above.    A sketch from Paper Wishes for World Card Making Day was used for above and below. Above is another Paper Wishes sketch for World Card Making Day and below is OWH sketch #236. Another Pinterest inspired card using a lace stamp from Kaisercraft - Oh so lovely set.   More Christmas cards for my own use made with Kaisercraft North Pole papers. #wcmd2015 @sctmagazine - Challenge #3 sketch challenge Mojo Monday sketch #334 And last but not least another sketch that I can't find the details for. Thanks for dropping by again, Happy Craftin'...........

The last of the scraps.....

Image
The last of the glossy magazine scraps with toppers and extra bits. These went to Combat Cards SA just before the close off of Christmas cards.   Stamps are from a Clear Impressions set with Creative Stamping magazine. Die-cut is from Stampin' Up.     These are based on some sketches but it has been a while and I can't remember which ones they were so I  won't be able to share that this time around. Thanks for dropping by ......

A quick play.....

A quick little play this week with some bits on my desk. Some old TLC papers again with stickers and a die-cut. Sorry for the poorly lit photos today, they were being taken at night.    Holly hobbie free stamps and papers, coloured with water colour pencils and a mix of greetings from Kaisercraft and Stampin' Up. Lastly, another teen girl birthday card with no idea what she likes so this is how it ended up with guidance from son for colour and a music theme.   Thanks for dropping by and happy craftin' this weekend.

Birthday card run.....

Image
Recent months have seen a few birthdays between my friends and kids friends so I have had to put a few last minute cards together.     Last weekend was a 70th birthday for a lovely lady who shocked me by the invite to her "70th". She still works full-time and dances several nights a week so I'm guessing that dance and keeping your mind active shows that it helps you to stay young looking. I could only hope I look that good when I get to 70. The Silhouette online store had this great ballroom couple silhouette that worked perfectly for her card.    Kerry at Crafty Cards and Cuts had a night time video class on Periscope one night to make cards with scraps so thought I would play along. I didn't get very far with my efforts but at least got a couple made. Another birthday for a male dance friend so hoped that this would look more masculine with the design. He was very pleased with the result and surprised that someone would go to the effort of p

Combat Card play......

Well the end of June saw the start of a new working routine for me after being out of work for a year I finally secured a casual job which has been keeping me busy for the last couple of months. It is great being back in the working scene but seriously impacting on my creative time.   I keep pulling out the scraps of old papers sets to play with which have either been freebies with magazines from years gone by that I have been holding onto the last of or old Topline Creations Papers and stickers that are still floating around in my stash. They still make good cards even if it is the last of the bits and pieces which encourages me to "think" a little bit more to get some use out of them.               All of these cards will go to Combat Cards.   Thanks for dropping by and happy craftin'...........

Just a little scrapping......

Image
It has been a slow year for scrapping for me, I just haven't been able to get into it much and life has been busy with other things such as searching for work and caring for family and furry friends.   This is all I have managed for the year to date:       A step -by-step challenge from Heather at Home & Scrapped. I loved how this came together and now just have to get myself together to finish off another pair of photos with a similar treatment.   A sketch from Heather above and  colour challenge below.       These two are examples for my own challenges put up in the last two months. Above is a "Pick your own" challenge where I provided a list of items to choose from and people could choose the items they wished to use.   Below was a moodboard challenge with colours and Moroccan style theme with layered embellishments. Just a little fun and some old photos of my guys.   Happy craftin'.....

Feathers and furry friends........

Image
More freebies to play with. The lovely feather stamps with Simply cards magazine and the feather die from Australian papercraft essentials. These make some great cards and I am looking forward to using them more in the future. Lots of potential for them with a variety of styles.   The rest use a pack of papers and toppers that I have had in my stash for a couple of  years now so just a little plain papers and some card bases help to make up some great little cards without too much bulk. More off to Combat Cards SA. Thanks for droppin' by..... Have a great weekend!

More freebies to play with

A few weeks ago I bought a magazine with a free pack of papers and some chipboard toppers and planning an afternoon with Combat Cards SA was an ideal time to make use of them. I pulled out some sketches and played with them. I used some additional die-cuts, plain papers, border punched edges and a couple of embossing folders and these are what I came up with.                          Lots of fun and some lovely little designs that will head off with Combat Cards sometime in the future.   Thanks for dropping by and happy craftin'......
