Happy New Year...... welcome 2013

Well the family holiday came and went and so has Christmas too. Here we are now entering 2013 and I have finally got some creative get go again.

The weather has been sweltering in the high 30's & low 40's so being in my craft area has been a challenge and kept to night time only when the room has cooled ever so slightly.

Just before Christmas I went to a crop and instead of scrapping I decided to play with a technique shown in Craftstamper magazine for August 2012. The technique used highlighters and walnut stain distress ink to create bakgrounds to stamp on. I had some varied results with different brands and colours of highlighters but have to say I do like the effect.

These are the card designs above that I ended up with. Aren't the backgrounds interesting and varied? I will probably do this technique again but need time to play and get it better perfected for my liking.

This last card was just a white emboss resist effect with distress inks using a Hero arts Wildflower cling stamp. Love the set .... and the greeting is a Stampin' Up one from the Delight in Life (discontinued) set.

Happy Crafin'

Very pretty cards, Melissa.
Thank you for stopping by at my blog and leaving comments. Yes, the photos were taken at the Bird Park, KL. We stooped by the park after daughter finished her Cross-country race nearby. She was feeling down for finishing no. 15 at the time. Were you in KL for a holiday?
