Scrap and stamp camp......

Image
I know, right? Two retreats in less than a month, it's just not right. But I sure enjoyed it. The lovely Odette at AOK scrapbooks was looking for extras to make up numbers on her stamp camp so I went along for the ride down to Baldivis. I joined in with the sketch competition and married it with Karen's challenge for the month at Home and Scrapped to come up with this layout.   Karen wanted us to use vellum lace, a photo with our Mum, the quote, washi tape made from a tutorial, dressmakers pattern, flowers made with tutorials from H & S or RAKs or swaps and a butterfly from a H & S RAK or swap. For me it was a challenge to use all that on a layout but I did make it work and lucky for me I the girls at the stamp camp liked it too and I tied for a win of the sketch competition. I shared the prize with another and ended up with a lovely set of Stampin' Up wood stamps and some DSP. Gotta be happy with that.   I also managed this layout for Liz's ...

More retreat shares.....

I quite surprised myself on retreat and got 9 single and 3 double layouts done. I can't share them all at this stage as some are for future challenges at Home and Scrapped so I'm just including random ones at the moment.   This was a just because layout....... I love monkeys, unlike some of my friends and I could stand and watch them for ages. I just loved how these guys just sat there and posed as if modelling for a photo. This background was based on a Creative Jump Start lesson by Louise Nelson which I kind of messed up as it was the first attempt at using a crackle medium. I learnt from my error so I know how to use it next time but still managed to put the page to good use with that hint of red scrap. A new transport experience for the boys. At Taman Safari, after the elephants show you could buy a t-shirt painted by an elephant and that also enabled you to have an elephant place a lei around your neck. The boys were up for the experience and couldn't w...

Retreat time layouts......

The last weekend in February I went on the Chooks Scrapping Retreat to the lovely Avalon Homestead in Toodyay. What a wonderful time I shared with the lovely ladies there with lots of scrapping time and great food accompanied by great company.  I had heaps of photos from our Indonesia and KL trip printed and was ready to play with paper.   MWS1-13 from Heather's scrappy sketches which I love to visit and never find enough time to complete them all. This is my Indonesian granddaughter who took a shine to her Aussie Uncle Keelan and spent most of her time looking for him or by his side.  My AFS friends at lunch - MWS2-13 where I had a lovely time reminiscing about old times in 1986-87 in Malang.  Some of the animals at Taman Safari near Bogor in Indonesia where you can drive amongst the animals and they come right up to the cars in places.... Lots of photos like these. And, a couple of the shows at Taman Safari where I used the technique of using m...

Blog hop winner......

It was congratulations to Libby at http://northernmainescrappygirl.blogspot.com.au/    who was the lucky winner of my blog hop challenge. Thanks for playing along Libby and having a go making some cards from your layout scraps at the Cyber crop. There is a little something winging it's way to you so I hope you enjoy it. I did myself join in the other challenges at the Cybercrop so here are my layouts: Heather's SBS challenge which worked great for the photos I had already printed unknowingly. Liz's Challenge to create a Summery LO and include the following on your page: 1. Sun. 2. A two word title. 3. And three flowers. Along with Kerri's blog hop challenge to create a card with scraps also.   Last of all was Karen's challenge - a colour challenge using beige, green and blue which we also had to make journaling cards or twinchies with scraps so I made one journaling card and then a card for Kerri's blog hop challenge also.   Thanks for sto...
