More cards.......

I have been playing with scraps and making more cards as well as some more of the online card classes lessons.
 
This is using scraps from my "Having Fun" layout a few weeks ago and made with the mini version of the sketch MWS13-13, The image is a digi stamp Lil Steampunk Luca which can be purchased here. I have printed it on thick watercolour paper and coloured it with Derwent Watercolour pencils.

Online Card classes - His & Hers cards day 4 inspired by Kelly Rasmussen. I really liked her colour pallette and design although I hated the fact that the original card design did not stand up. Just one of my pet hates.... what is the point of having a card if you can't stand it up on the mantel piece to show it off. I kept the overally design concept but jut converted it to a full front of the card instead of a smaller front opening panel.

Another card made with scraps from the matching layout and the MWS5-13 I used the highlighter technique that I learnt from the Craftstamper magazine and a stamp from the Urban stamps - Botanical Print set by Papermania.
Last but not least is a card made from some scraps of a layout I did using 6 x 6 collections paper of Paris. I even got ambitious and made the ribbon flower which I actually quite like and it wasn't difficult which is always a good thing.

Gosh Christmas is creeping up fast

I'm not real good at this blogging stuff, am I? I have really neglected it lately. We spent a lovely ten days in Cairns in the beginning of November which I am sure you will see in the layouts that I will be creating over the coming months and indeed in the last couple of Cybercrops. We stayed at Holloways Beach which is approx 10kms north of Cairns city and the beach is not like our South Aussie beaches where we have the soft hard packed sand, it was grainy and moved a lot under foot. In Cairns itself you cannot swim at the beach as the city has a more swampy beachfront which is muddy and tacky with lots of crabs. At this time of the year also, the waters are full of stingers so it is dangerous to swim in the sea unless in an enclosed netted off area for protection. Holloways beach had a small area to do this and the boys liked it but the current was strong and wavy and no sooner would they stand up than wave would come and dump them under again. My Christmas cards with North Pole papers.....

Last Christmas season I bought the Kaisercraft North Pole 6.5" x 6.5" paper pad as I really loved the colours of the papers. Of course I really didn't get a chance to use them much  because I had already made my cards earlier in the year so have been putting them to use in recent weeks for my cards for this Christmas Season. Inspired by Pinterest above.    A sketch from Paper Wishes for World Card Making Day was used for above and below.  Above is another Paper Wishes sketch for World Card Making Day and below is OWH sketch #236. The last of the scraps.....

The last of the glossy magazine scraps with toppers and extra bits. These went to Combat Cards SA just before the close off of Christmas cards.   Stamps are from a Clear Impressions set with Creative Stamping magazine. Die-cut is from Stampin' Up.     These are based on some sketches but it has been a while and I can't remember which ones they were so I  won't be able to share that this time around.
