A very delayed welcome to the New Year........

Hello all and welcome to 2014!
It is a very delayed post for the year as I have moved from Western Australia back to Adelaide over the past two months so packing and storage, followed by unpacking and trying to set up the old house has taken up my time.

I found some time recently to create a couple of cards as my Sister requested a card for the 30th Anniversary celebration of a group that she used to be involved with. Her criteria for me was pink and roses. Well, roses was a challenge in itself as I don't own much in the way of roses as I'm not a real floral girl. I did however remember my Manhattan Flower embossing folder from Stampin' Up so I tried a couple of techniques that I had been wanting to have a go with for a while.
This first card was using the embossing folder on watercolour paper and brayering Versamark across the raised image and wet embossing with clear powder. I then cut out the area that I wanted to use and coloured the image with  Faber Castell gelatos in two shades. A little bit of scrap paper, some ribbon and lace made up the design.
This second design was the preferred option which was done with the debossed side on watercolour paper that was second generation brayered with Stampin' Up Rose Red and Distress ink Mustard Seed. I then lightly misted the brayering to allow a little blending of colour in the centre. Swiss dots embossing folder in the background, Fiskars Lacy Doubles border punch and scalloped circle large for added interest and the anniversary stamp from The Stamps of Life. The 30th is done with some old stickers from my stash.

The last two cards are a token effort for a "Love" cards challenge for the month of February at Home and Scrapped. I found an old decoupage freebie mini kit that came with the "Quick Cards" magazine some time ago and it was buried in my stash that reappeared during my move. I decided it needed to see the light of day so started cutting last week. Decoupage cards are not really my thing but they came out okay.

Thanks for droppin' by, I hope to be back again in the not too distant future.
Happy Craftin' and have a safe and happy long weekend for those who have one this weekend.

I love your cards and especially the last two,as teddy bears are my current thing. Good to see you can get into cards now things have settled.
