I've had my cry watching a recorded version of Extreme Makeover - Home Edition on W on Foxtel...... Don't think I have ever watched that show without welling up. I just find it amazing the things that they create in 7 days for these families. God has given those guys, and all those volunteers that they round up, some truly amazing talent with the ideas that they have.
Well school holidays start today in Adelaide and boy are my boys ready for them. They have been a nightmare this week with the tired and grumpy attitudes. Even my sister noticed tonight at their piano lessons that they were not their usual perky selves. I give them until Tuesday to recover and then they will be rejuvenated and ready to get going again.
What am I up to this weekend? Well, I really need to do my layout for puzzlesketches blog this weekend along with a cybercrop at Heaven-Sent.
http://puzzlesketches.blogspot.com/ is a fun new blog started last month where they give you pieces to create a layout with for the month. You create your own layout sketch with the pieces and then create your layout.
If you would prefer to get some scrapbooking done about the Animal Kingdom - not sure what that is going to involve exactly...... then join me at http://heaven-sent.com.au/index.php?option=com_fireboard&Itemid=26&func=showcat&catid=57 to see the Cybercrop challenges. There will be four over the weekend plus a game on Saturday night. Last month we had to make a flower with balloons and take a photo of it. The mind boggles over what Ingeborg may have up her sleeve for us to do this time.
I will leave you with a layout that I have completed yesterday as a sketch challenge over at Scrapwitch. It is Keelan playing on a cannon in a park on the way to their camp in May this year.

Today I have been busy making a couple more Christmas card examples for our "Crop for a cure" day with Heaven-Sent. These will go up in my DT gallery on 1st of November. I even managed a double page layout to prep for a layout class in November and Ingeborg's sketch challenge at Heaven-Sent.
I'm at the school tomorrow morning, Keelan's teacher asked me to teach the children and Indonesian children's song so have been preparing that tonight. Ethan has a school excursion with his class to AAMI stadium so he is very excited.

Have done the clothes sorting and floor washing and just sorting some magazines and books. Got busy and listed a lot of my card making books on ebay, so if you are looking for some, go and check them out. One of these days I will learn not to buy any more books because I never use them, I'm always finding my own designs to work with or visiting my favourite Page Maps site.
Another crop tomorrow night too so if you can't make tonight I still have a couple of spots free for tomorrow night.
We are off to see Melvin Tix tomorrow afternoon with the boys. This should be interesting as I had never heard of him before, but this is what his website says:
"Petter Vabog has been playing an instrument since the age of 6. First he played the recorder and at the age of 9 he started playing the alto horn in Sandefjord Boy´s Band, a wind orchestra. He ended up playing the French Horn. For 2 years he was a horn player in an Army Band in the northern part of Norway and later he studied at the Norwegian Music Academy in Oslo. As a professional horn player he has worked with The Norwegian Radio Orchestra and Stavanger Symphony Orchestra.
In 1988 he left the Stavanger Orchestra and started clowning full-time. melvin Tix also started doing clown concerts together with orchestras in many countries. Melvin Tix is the conductor, the soloist on various instruments and also the presenter of the concerts."
He will be playing tomorrow with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

I finally bought the Cricut Design Studio software and it arrived and was installed today. I didn't have a huge chance to play with it but I did give it a quick go just with a few words. I must admit I had a look at a few blogs afterwards and realised how creative some people have become using just the basic cartridge and the DS software. I'm dreaming of the hours that I can find just to sit and play! The only problem being that I can't install it on my laptop because it is not compatible with Vista 64 bit so had to put it on the XP system and that is the computer that the kids and DH use so guess I will be a little limited in my play time.
I completed a digi layout last night of my Dad for Brigitte's competition at Heaven-Sent. It uses the My Dad Page Pak from Cottage Arts. Yes, I know I don't do digi much these days but I should pull my software out and play with that too a little more.

Melissa's Competition: Challenge yourself to create a layout using only patterned papers – no plain cardstock allowed. You may use plain coloured embellishments like ribbons, flowers, brads, eyelets and rub-ons but your title should also be patterned too if you use one.
Brigitte's Competition: Do a layout on a male in your life and how they inspire you (father, granddad, husband, brother, friend etc). You must NOT include any flowers, hearts or anything pink.
Ingeborg's Competition: Create a layout using the sketch below (for a larger picture, please check the September 2008 Gallery).
For all three competitions the other rules are the same:
· Upload the pictures of your work in the September 2008 Competition gallery BEFORE midnight on September 30, 2008;
· You can enter as many times as you like;
· The winner of each competition will receive a $ 1o.00 gift voucher to spend in our store;
· The challenge is open to anyone, but you will need to register on our site if you want to upload into our gallery!
My DT work for Heaven-Sent has also been loaded. I have used the Cosmo Cricket Little Boys 8" x 8" kit to create a layout and 7 cards.
